Blues 3-4* Ilves VL

Firstly I’ve been busy over the weekend so I’ve not had the chance to update the great result we had vs Pelicans 5-4 at home on Saturday, but the video highlights has been uploaded in the highlight section now.

As for tonights game… What a comeback!  Marjamäki so important for us again tonight, as he scored our first goal, our winning shoot-out goal and also assisted on the 3-3 goal that took it to overtime, Pellinen and Korhonen with the other goals.

The bad news is that Play-Off rivals Lukko and HPK both picked up a full 3 points each today, the good news however is that we extend out lead over SaiPa to 6 points now and also Tappara lost at home.

I’m not sure how many games we have left this season but I think the Play-offs are beyond us this year, which is a shame as I was going to fly over to Finland and watch them (or the mestis play-out, if SaiPa manage to overtake us) I’ve been to football stadiums with 40,000+ people in the last year but still the atmosphere can’t touch Hakametsä in the play-offs.  Still have nightmares about the Pelicans goal that went through the legs of Hannu Toivonen in the 2009 play-offs… I had the biggest rantapallo in Tampere that night and was one of the last 3 people to leave the building when security finally had to ask us to leave.  SM-Liiga play-offs are the most important sporting event to me and I wouldn’t miss the chance to see Ilves in them win, lose or draw.

Keep the winning going and hope for other results to go our way as well!
